Class Description

FOUNDATION 2 is designed to prepare students to enter in next leveled math class.  This class is basically covering Algebra II, Geometry II, and Statistic sections.  This class is a year long course.

  • Probability (20 Days)

Lesson Schedules

 

  • 30 minutes of self-taking notes.
    • Every day, there will be a PowerPoint (s) posted online. Please go over by yourself or write down what you think it is important for you.
  • 30-40 minutes of teacher’s Instruction.
    • After the self-taking notes, we will go over. I will be showing few examples and practice for you to understand the materials. 
  • 20-30 minutes of Homework/Classwork assignments.
    • Every day, there will be some assignments for you to do. Please use your time wisely to work on it.

 

 

CLASS RULES

  1. RESPECT
    • Do not talk back
    • Ask Politely
    • Do not talk while others are talking
    • Follow Directions without any complains
    • Raise your hand before you speak
  2. RESPOSIBILITY
    • Have to keep all of your work together (Do not just throw them away)
    • Have your own pen/pencil and paper ready to go
  3. PREPARATION
    • When you come into my class, you must be in your seat and start your warm up (If it was provided to you)
  4. NON-ACCEPTABLE EQUIPMENTS & ITEMS
    • Food/Drink
      • There shall be no food or drink AT ALL in my class.
      • Gum or candy is acceptable BUT do not leave or put on the floor or desk
    • Cellphone/Headphone
      • There should be no cellphones what-so-ever
      • Headphone should be in your chromebook case or away until I tell you to use it.
    • Blankets
      • This is not a sleeping class

 

 

Pride Time Log Sheets

 

In your future, you will see “Credit hours” or “Time Log” section in college or Senior year of your High School.  

During your Pride Time (11:00-11:55), you need to go to your teacher’s class to get your assignments done or get tutored. 

  • You have to have 2 hours total every quarter ends
  • You must record what time you attended (Ex. 11-11:25)
  • You must get your teacher’s signature
    • If your teacher assigned you, you must go
    • It is your responsibility to keep this up
    • Use it wisely

 

Rewards

 

To achieve our goals, we need good grades. To get good grades, we need motivations.  To get motivations, we need rewards. To get rewards, we need to respect and follow directions.

  • END OF THE WEEK (VOTES)
    • Students that participated and respected perfectly during class time, they will receive HOMEWORK/CLASSWORK PASS
    • What do I have to do to receive that?
      • NO Tardy
      • NO missing Homework/classwork
      • No Office Referral nor tardy
      • Participation
      • Respect
      • Responsibility
    • END OF THE MONTH/LEADERSHIP AWARDS
      • Continuous of the participation, respect, responsibility, have not missed any Homework or Classwork, will receive 5 MINUTES EARLY TO THE LUNCH PASS and 5 Extra Points on Lower Grade.
      • What do I have to do to receive that?
        • No tardy
        • Non missing assignment
        • Completion of homework/classwork
        • Respect
        • Participations
        • No Office referrals
        • Responsibility
        • 70% grade or above
      • END OF THE QUARTER
        • No tardy, no missing Homework/Classwork, no office referral, perfect participation and respect will receive ONE EXEMPT TEST PASS (EXCEPT FINAL EXAM) and 10 minutes Added to your Pride Time Log Sheet
        • What do I have to do to receive that?
          • 100% participation, respect, responsibility, homework/classwork.
          • 0% office referrals, tardy slips.
          • 100% positive attitude
          • 80% grade or above
        • END OF THE SEMESTER
          • No tardy, office referral, missing homework/classwork, 100% respect and participations will receive DROPPING ONE WORST GRADE (EXCEPT FINAL EXAM)
          • What do I have to do to receive that?
            • 100% respect, participation, responsibility, homework/classwork.
            • 0% tardy slips, office referrals
            • 100% leadership.
            • 90% or above

Leadership Awards

 

End of every month, I will be electing two students for leaderships awards. 

To get leadership awards, you must…

  1. You have to be the leader
  2. Impress your teacher
  3. Shows respect, responsibility, and your personality!
  4. Grades above 90% (Some exceptional)
  5. No
    1. Missing homework/classwork
    2. Tardy slips
    3. Written form/PITT

If you are the chosen one….you will receive.

  • Extra 20 minutes on you Pride Time Log Sheets
  • 1 Homework/Classwork pass
  • 5 Minutes early lunch pass

 

 

Tardy

 

Please be on time. If you are late to class, it will count as tardy.  When the bell rings, classroom door will be shut.   If you have a note from office or your other teachers, please hand it to me. 

GRADING POINTS

 

  • Tests and Projects 40%
  • Quiz and Pride Time Log Sheet 30%
  • Homework and Classwork 20%
  • Participation and Warm-ups 10%

Equipments

Students must have:

  • Textbook (Will be provided)
  • Notebook papers/ notebook/binder
  • Pencils (Students may NOT use pen for their quizzes or tests)
  • Graphing Calculator (Will be provided)

Tutoring Session

Students must attend to tutoring sessions if he/she is struggling with their assignments. Tutoring session will be during their Pride Time (11:00-11:55)

  • Any make up test/quizzes must be taken during tutoring sessions.
  • If you have any questions, you are always welcome to stop by to get help.
  • 70% below in your class

 

TEST RULES

 

  • During test
    • No pen will be allowed
    • No cellphone
    • No sharing notes
    • No sharing answers
    • No talking
    • No cheating
    • No sleeping
  • Any of these rules are broken; he/she will be taking their test over again or 0% for their test grade.

 

Consequences (Classroom Rules Violation)

  1. Warning
  2. Parent contact/ Coach contact
  3. Office referral/PITT
  4. Administrators and parents conference.

-Any distraction in the class or breaking class rules.

Consequences (Code of Conduct Violation)

-According to the student code of conduct, I have to refer the incident to the administrator. There will be consequences and this is an administrative requirement.  (See Blue and White Student Handbook)

-Any physical or verbal violation will be sent straight to the office.
