Objective 1.01 Remember the interior design profession and the design process

Essential Questions:  1.  What is interior design?  2.  What career options are in the design field?  3.  What are the different types of interior design?  4.  What are the steps in the design process? 

Warm-up:  Have students read and annotate "The Design Process" handout. 

Presentation of Information:  Use handout "The Design Process" as a guide for walking students through the design process as a class discussion.  Students should remember the steps of the design process.  Next, Show students the YouTube video What is the Interior Design Process? to review the design process.

Activities: 1.  Teacher will distribute Phases of the Design Process student handout. Using The Design Process reference sheet, students will determine which phase of the design process each designer is using. 2.  Students will create a graphic representation of the design process that is correctly labeled and illustrated to keep as reference in their notebook.
